The Genesis features an elegant contour to hold your foot, but without unnecessary support to weigh you down. In fact, Genesis is so lightweight, a Men’s size 8 is only 136 grams.

Genesis sandals come pre-laced but you can find the perfect fit in seconds using our patent-pending tension adjustment system. The huaraches-inspired lacing goes around your entire foot, so you don’t feel the toe loop. The Genesis also features a nylon Achilles strap with Silicone grip to hold on securely and comfortably.

Figuring out sizing is never easy. That’s why we also have FREE EXCHANGES. Most people find our size recommendation gives them a proper fit, but just in case, we have a free exchange program for all UK orders.

For Men looking to buy the Women’s version because it is narrower – the conversion rate is 1 times, e.g. a Men’s 7 is a Women’s 8.

Caring for your Xero Shoes

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry.
We do not recommend putting your Xeros in the washing machine or dryer.

FAQs

Why don’t you use leather or hemp laces?

You can use almost anything for lacing huaraches.

In my testing, though, I found some issues with hemp and leather that I didn’t like:

Both leather and hemp tended to stretch, especially when moist
Both leather and hemp tighten and stiffen when they dry
Both leather and hemp wear out faster than our polyester laces
Leather is much more expensive
Most leather laces are rectangular, and the edges can dig into your skin
Leather isn’t vegan (for those who care about that)
Leather and hemp don’t give you as many fun colour choices

The 100% polyester cord we use is strong, light, and doesn’t stretch or tighten, especially when wet.

Also, I prefer the “slip-on” method of tying which works best with a round lace, rather than a flat one (like leather).

Needless to say, you can replace the lace we send you with whatever you like.

Comfy and light

Xero Genesis

Love them and pretty much live in them outside of work. They have seen me through a music festival with plenty of dancing action! My running friends are so used to seeing me in them now that they no longer make any remarks about it, I walk the dogs in them, go to the pub in them, mooch about at home in them. Love them, minimalistic and simple 😀👍

Getting used to them.

At first try they seemed OK but bit floppy; made me even trip once. After adjusting as suggested in your video, they feel much more secure. Now wearing them more often and longer to regain strength in feet and legs.

Amazingly comfortable and durable sandals

I have had these a few years and now they are great sandals. They don't slip off, are easy to adjust and are perfect for hot sunny days. I thoroughly recommend them to anyone who does not like flip flops, they are a great alternative..

Nice!

I have never had a pair of sandals like these because flip-flops never stayed straight on my feet and the bit between may toes was uncomfortable. I have neither of these problems with the Genesis sandals, and, even when walking on gravelly surfaces, I don’t find I get a lot bits in the shoe. It took a little trial and error to get the position and length of the straps just right, but now I find them comfortable for 5km walks. I do find that I need to be careful when moving sideways or backwards, as it is easy to catch the edge.
