"The lightest, most comfortable sports sandal your feet will ever love."

Imagine your favourite sports sandal… you know the ones. They strap onto your foot, they weigh up to half a kilo - or more - they’re thick as a brick.

Now imagine getting rid of up to 70% of the weight, and almost all of the bulk!

Imagine a sports sandal that feels like you’ve simply glued a protective tyre tread to your foot. Your feet are free and airy, they move and bend and flex. They can grip the ground as you hike. They’re as comfortable in the water - if you're boating or fishing - as they are on land. They slide on and off in seconds, but hold securely no matter what you’re doing.

That’s the Amuri Z-Trek.

Key features

Super-comfortable webbing

Adjustable Z-pattern - get the right tension across your foot, over your foot, and behind your heel.

5.5mm FeelTrue® outsole protects you from unpleasant surfaces without sacrificing ground feel.

Elegant contour to hold your foot, but without unnecessary support.

"Zero-Drop" - your heel isn’t elevated; your feet are anatomically correct.

Ready to wear - just slide in your foot and go.

Heel cup - keeps your heel in place, helps keep out debris, and adds a splash of color.

Nylon Achilles strap with Silicone grip - holds on securely and comfortably.

Elevated ankle holes - the lace never touches the ground, and so it won’t abrade.

How to pick the correct size

Sandals don’t fit the same way that shoes do, and the sizing isn’t quite the same.

  1. Incredibly designed minimalist barefoot sandal Review by MTEsq

I bought these after getting some Xero Pacificas in a sale and falling in love with the fit and feel - I have Merrell, Freet and Vivos too, but Xero were my favourite shoes by quite a margin.
They instantly felt right for my feet, having so many points of adjustment and have not rubbed at all. Surefooted on all surfaces, great feel, just enough depth to avoid slapping on streets, they've replaced basically every other summer footwear I have. Now I have to work out whether to try the Z-Trail too or get another pair of these! (Posted on 10/06/2020)

  2. Great first thoughts! Review by Benji

Did my first outing with these today. Loved both walking and running. They add protection to the foot, whilst still giving you a reel feel of the ground. If you do not walk barefoot often, you might need to make some adjustments to your walking style before you feel comfortable in them. However running just felt natural to me, more so on the ball of the foot. I find these very slippy on mossy rocks however they gave decent grip all round. I wouldn't recommend running too far to begin with, as you will be using new muscles if you only wear supportive footwear. Big thanks to Simon for the customer support. I recommend this product! 3. Not for me (but great customer service) Review by William

I loved the look of these when they arrived, having initially got the wrong size (I have small but very wide feet so miscalculated a bit) I was excited to try them on but I found that as I walked around the house my right foot was coming down almost on top of the lip at the back. During extended wear I'm sure I would have had a nasty blister or two and at £47 a pair I don't really want to be cutting away at them. No matter how I had them done up I had this problem. I will say the left didn't have this issue at all and was really nice to wear. If a similar design without the back lip was available I would definitely try a pair. Unfortunately the new Jessie design isn't wide enough and I think the big toe strap would drive me mad. Due to my awkward foot size this was the 3rd order I'd made totaling 5 pairs of shoes/sandals. 2 of the parcels arrived so quickly I was actually surprised to find them in my porch. the other took longer but it was clearly stated on the website at the time deliveries were postponed due to holidays. Customer service were lovely to deal with and I had no issues returning or getting a refund for any of them. The pair I did keep, the TerraFlex, are the first pair of properly fitting shoes I've had for years and I wear them day in day out. (Posted on 25/09/2018)

  4. Simple, Strong and, um, Sexy (?) Review by David

I bought my current pair at the beginning of May 2017 and wore them almost exclusively till the beginning of May 2018. (I then wore a pair of xero genesis without socks through the summer). I'm planning to wear the Z-Trek again through the winter till next spring. When it's wet/cold (I live on the west coast of Scotland) I wear them with a pair of waterproof socks or tough wool socks. I'm pretty sure I'll be having to replace them after the winter, but that's a pretty good outing I'd say. No idea what the mileage is though. I go out in the hills too, but haven't done any multi-day treks in them, and would probably be tempted to buy one of the treking shoe/boots for that.

So I like them. They do what they say on the tin...simple sandals that help you to walk more naturally. My only irritation is the velcro fastening at the back which sometimes comes undone. I wish they made the Z-Trek with a closed, elasticated back bit. I'm sure that could easily be made an option. That would make them perfect for my needs.

  5. Made my summer best ever Review by Marcin

Bought them just before summer time in Scotland and absolutely loved it, felt my feet fresh and free everyday. Whatever it was rainy day or super dry trail condition felt barefoot all the time, which was my goal. Hike with them, swim in the lake with rocky coast. Now just waiting for autumn version of Xero shoes. (Posted on 12/09/2018)

  6. Very comfortable and look better than pics Review by Alastair

Using template my feet were 26.2 cm long. I am Nike 8, EU 42.5; Merrill Vapour-Glove Uk 7.5; VivoBarefoot 7; but narrow. Men’s size 8 were perfect and look quite Roman. A Woman’s 10, despite right length heel, were too narrow at the heel.

Fabulous, get some. Only complaint... get more stock !! Plan to try a covered shoe at some point. (Posted on 27/08/2018)

  7. Wonderful, only the heel is not ideal Review by Gyorgy

I love my Z-Trek. So thin, so natural! Gives protection. For everyday wear it is perfect. For running it is very nice, too. During running the front straps hurt my leg a bit but I believe I can adjust it better to stop this. At the heel of the sandals there is an attachment of two materials which forms a small gap in the inside of the sole - everyday use I don't notice it but after a long walk of 20km it caused blisters. 8. Can't get over how much I love them! Review by Dafydd

Bought them a month ago and I've only worn shoes and socks for a few hours since! I wear them walking, running, cycling, to work... it's great to be able to walk and run in wet grass, mud and just not worry about wet feet, wet shoes and socks, or ruining shoes or getting them dirty. I suspect the feet act as a thermostat, and if you allow them to respond to the temperature without insulating them in shoes and socks, your body will tolerate greater extremes of temperature. I may be wrong, but I like the thought! I'll soon be buying more of these things. (Posted on 25/09/2017)

  9. Perfect Review by Lao Tzu

Plain amazing on every level. It's great looking, super comfortable, you can feel the ground very nicely while still being protected. For those who know I'd say the ground feel is between a VVF KSO and a KSO trek, it could be a tad slimer and you'd have more feel, but it's a well balanced compromised sole that you can take just everywhere without sacrificing anything. It's extremely well made. I'm a 5'7 vata man, and I had to take the woman model because the man model was too wide, don't hesitate... it fits just perfectly, the templates made it very easy to pick the right one... I'm in love. This kind of barefoot shoes will contribute to making you healthy and happy, 100% guaranteed. (Posted on 17/09/2017)

  10. Fantastical!!! Review by SM

Top notch! I have always had it in my head that if you wear bare foot shoes you have to accept less endurance. Xero shoes has proven me wrong! The only thing I would like, is more length on the strap at the front of your ankle, just to make putting them on a little easier. But overall these are excellent! Teva must be shaking in their boots (sandals :-) ) (Posted on 30/05/2017)

  11. Perfect! Review by Carola

Great , lightweight sandals, perfect service :-) (Posted on 08/09/2016)

  12. The best :) Review by Kornelie

I don't like having anything between my toes, and I need shoes to be easy to tie, that's why I chose Z-Trek. And they are just amazing. Easy to wear, lightweight, I like the design too. They are wide enough for my big foot. My foot is 26x10cm and I decided to pick M8 size and it fits well. Lots of space. I recommend chosing one or two sizes smaller than advised. Especially if your feet are narrower. The outline in the sizing guide fits the outsole. I can feel the ground so well! Perfect choice. (Posted on 12/02/2016)

  13. I live in these Review by Elizabeth

So comfortable. I wear them outside, I wear them inside, I take them with me so that I can slip on to walk back to the tube etc. when I've had a function requiring 'posh' shoes. Can't recommend enough. I have quite wide feet - for those of you familiar with Clarks shoes I was an E fitting as a child and they are wide enough for me. Just wish they made some 'formal' type shoes I could wear when needed. (Posted on 21/10/2015)

  14. The only sandal you'll ever need... Review by Woody

The bottom line is I love these sandals. They are super comfortable, easily adjustable and simple to get on and off (I unclip them at the side to retain tension on the main webbing and at the heel). I originally bought the DIY kit and although I really liked the sole and despite adding in rubber toes posts they never felt comfortable at all. I also found them a real hassle to put on. So, decided to try the z-trek and after two months of daily wear I'm over the moon with them. I wear these for everything now from walking along wet paths to running and shopping. Can't help but recommend these sandals to anyone that likes a minimalist shoe. (Posted on 11/09/2015)

  15. Money well spent Review by Rachel

I was sceptical about running in these and aware that I shouldn't run too far in them to begin. I strapped them on and went on what I would call a short run (approx. 7 miles) on multi terrain and it was probably one of the most enjoyable runs I've ever been on. I know it's early days but I'm converted; I feel liberated :) (Posted on 11/08/2015)

  16. Comfortable! Review by Jack

I must note, these sandals needed a few modifications to be a truly perfect fit.

First, I ordered a size 11, as my feet are pretty wide and long, so (thankfully) the sandals came a bit extra long, so it gave me plenty of area to trim them down to the right size. I own a pair of generic high street sandals that are the exact size of my foot, so this was a good template to trim the front with.

I needed to do this as I found that my foot was sliding up and down the sandal when I was walking, and threw my foot coordination off slightly, resulting in the front of the sandals occasionally scraping the pavement, which was annoying. Also, I felt like I was having to adjust the straps to compensate for this, which gave me an awkward and not so perfect fit. My front feet would feel tight and roll back into the heel cups. Cutting the fronts of the sandals a bit removed this problem completely. The sandal, long story short, fits better, and I would highly recommend doing this too if you have any of the problems I have.

Also, the straps are a bit too long on the top and back. The top one (as suggested in a video) is much better when you cut them down and melt the ends off (way cleaner looking). The back, also, has the Velcro stitched on in the wrong place, so when tightening the back (which is the most important area to tighten my sandals for comfort) only has a tiny area to attach to. Spending a few £ in a shoe shop to have the velcro moved improves this greatly also, providing a much snugger and cleaner fit.

I understand everyone's feet will be different, and I am sure most people wont be as picky as me. But with a few modifications (which are very easy when you know what to do!) this has become my favorite piece of footwear, ever! Wearing shoes now feels very odd!

The traction is amazing, the foot-bed has plenty of grip and is comfortable on the soles of my feet, and the thickness of the sole is perfect!

I intend on buying a few more pairs! (Posted on 24/07/2015)

  17. Absolutely fantastic!! Review by Annemarie

These are just the best sandals I've ever owned. I love barefooting but sometimes one has to have shoes, and these are those. They are the best Xero shoes so far. Thank you very much. I can really recommend them. (Posted on 15/06/2015)

  18. As advertised Review by Clovis

Having been a shod minimalist runner for 5 years, I decided it was time for me to try some running sandals.
I liked the Xero Shoes Z-Trek design at first sight. They looked more masculine and rugged than most of the other sandals on the market.
As I live in France, I bought them from the Xero UK site and got them in my mailbox within 3 days.
Now, after 6 weeks and 200 km (10 to 24 km per race), I must say that they are as advertised: minimal yet sturdy.
I will write another review when I have reached 1,000 km. (Posted on 15/06/2015)

  19. Happy! Review by Robi

Best sandals I ever had. I really feel the ground as promised., and I do not get hurt even when running through a rocky river bed. And a tiny detail what I actually like the most: having chosen a fairly small size (a womens size) the size of the soles is not even a millimetre bigger than my feet. Its almost invisible. Result: I feel every little bit of grass around my feet when walking across a park. This I would not get in ordinary sandals as they usually have some "shoe bed", meaning that they go a bit up at the sides. (Posted on 12/06/2015)
